LogiCO2 Mk90 CO2 detector for monitoring leaks in rooms where CO2 is used
The basic LogiCO2 Mk90 CO2 detector set combines sensor, central unit and sounder/beacon to detect CO2 leaks in confined spaces and provide visual and audible warnings, with an installation base already prepared.
Qué aporta este producto
This set is designed to detect CO2 concentrations that may be unhealthy or dangerous in monitored areas. It is particularly suitable for technical rooms, CO2 storage or use areas, beverage dispensing installations, wineries, breweries and other confined spaces where a leak must be identified quickly.
Compared with scattered solutions, this kit already brings together the system’s essential elements: Mk90 sensor, Mk9 central unit, strobe siren/beacon, power supply, wiring and signage. This simplifies the initial deployment and provides a solid base for a well-executed professional installation.
In addition to visual and audible alarms, the central unit displays CO2, temperature, alarms and system faults. The system can operate from a base configuration of 1 sensor and can be expanded up to 12 sensors as the installation grows.

Mk9 central unit, Mk90 sensor, amber LED sounder/beacon with 1 m cable, protective cover with 6 screws, 5 m red cable, 10 m red cable, 5 m blue cable, RJ45 1-1 and 1-2 splitters, 1 A transformer, UL/CE/AU/UK plugs, plug lock, bag with screws and wall plugs, signs, manual and quick guide. |
Compatibility and use cases
This set is intended for installations where CO2 is used, stored or distributed and where there is a risk of accumulation due to leaks. It is suitable for plant rooms, bottle rooms, cold rooms, areas with piped CO2 supply, wineries, breweries, beverage producers, hospitality and other indoor environments with risks in confined spaces.
The base is supplied with an Mk90 sensor, but the system can be expanded to up to 12 sensors if the installation has several risk points. If the monitored area has more than one entrance, it may be necessary to add more than one siren/beacon to ensure the visibility of the warning signals. A junction box for external signaling is also available.
It is compatible with LogiCO2’s own architecture based on RS485 Modbus communication and RJ45 cabling. If the room only has mechanical ventilation, the manufacturer states that it must have a sensor installed.
Installation and considerations before buying
- Check how many actual CO2 risk points there are in the installation. This set includes 1 sensor, but the system supports up to 12.
- The Mk90 sensor must be installed at a maximum height of 30 cm above the floor and at a maximum distance of 5 m from the CO2 distribution point.
- Each sensor covers a maximum area of 78 m²; if the area is larger or has several risk points, plan for additional sensors.
- La unidad central debe instalarse fuera de la zona vigilada, en una posición visible y accesible.
- The horn/strobe must be installed above the sensor, approximately 2–2.4 m from the floor and visible from the access points to the area.
- If there are several doors or access points, consider whether you need a second additional sounder/beacon at the exit or above the door.
- Check the available power supply, cable routing, mandatory signage and protection of the units against impacts or movement in the room.
- As this is a safety system, installation and commissioning must be carried out with proper technical judgment and in compliance with the applicable regulations in each country or project.
Recommended maintenance and use
The system performs automatic self-calibration at regular intervals, which reduces the need for manual service calibration in a normal environment. Even so, as this is a safety product, the manufacturer recommends carrying out at least one functional check per year.
In practice, it is advisable to periodically check the condition of the wiring, RJ45 connectors, signage, sounder/beacon, power supply and alarm response. The central unit itself allows the system to be tested from the reset/test button, and the audible alarm can be temporarily muted during an alarm situation while the incident is being handled.
Frequently asked questions
What exactly does this LogiCO2 Mk90 basic set include?
Includes Mk90 CO2 sensor, Mk9 central unit, amber LED horn/strobe, 1 A transformer, cables, RJ45 splitters, protective cover, signage, screws, manual and quick guide.
Does this kit already allow you to set up a CO2 alarm system?
Yes. It is a complete base for one detection point with visual and audible alarm. If the installation has more risk areas, the system can be expanded up to 12 sensors.
Where should the Mk90 sensor be placed?
It must be installed no more than 30 cm from the floor and no more than 5 m from the CO2 distribution point. Each sensor covers a maximum area of 78 m².
Where are the central unit and the sounder/beacon installed?
The central unit must be mounted outside the monitored area, in a visible and accessible location. The sounder/beacon must be placed above the sensor, approximately 2–2.4 m from the floor and visible from the entrance.
Does it require periodic manual calibration?
In a normal environment, the system performs automatic self‑calibration and removes the need for manual service calibration. Even so, a functional check is recommended at least once a year.
Can an alarm be muted or reset?
Yes. The internal sounder of the central unit can be briefly muted. Full alarm reset should only be carried out when the CO2 level has dropped below the low alarm threshold.
