John Guest safety clip for push-fit connections
Locking clip that is placed on the collet of a John Guest push-fit connection once the tube is inserted. It helps limit accidental movement of the release collet.
How to choose the size
Select the clip that matches the connection size. Current variants cover 3/16"–1/4"–6 mm, 5/16"–8 mm, 3/8"–10 mm, 1/2"–12 mm and 15 mm.
When it’s useful
It is especially practical in installations subject to handling, vibration or frequent maintenance, where it is useful to see at a glance that the collet is locked.
Setup
First make the tube connection correctly. Then place the clip between the body and the collet. To disconnect the line, remove the clip first and only then press the collet.

Can I use any size?
No, it must match the size of the fitting.
Does it prevent removing the tube?
While in place it limits actuation of the collet; it must be removed to disconnect.
Does it replace a proper installation?
