Capacity and use in a professional bar
Actual capacity depends on the type of container, bottle height, can geometry, internal layout and restocking frequency. As a reference, the DB106H is suitable for small bars or as service support; the DB126H increases capacity while maintaining a single door; the DB201H is a very well-balanced size for hospitality; and the DB301H-3 is the highest-capacity option within this family of hinged-door units.
Install Beer recommendation: when choosing the right model, it is not advisable to look only at litres. You need to consider available width, type of drink, daily turnover, restocking, ambient temperature, opening frequency and whether the backbar will be the main cold storage for the bar or support alongside other equipment.
Installation, ventilation and start-up
Backbar refrigerators must be installed indoors, on a stable, level surface with sufficient ventilation. On-bar or behind-bar it is especially important not to block air inlets and outlets, as ventilation directly affects the unit’s performance, consumption and service life.
- Install indoors only, in a dry and ventilated area.
- Avoid proximity to ovens, dishwashers, radiators, heat sources or direct sunlight.
- Do not place next to direct air-conditioning or ventilation outlets that could affect operation.
- Leave enough space for ventilation, especially if the unit is built in under a bar or between cabinets.
- Do not block grilles, air inlet, rear or heat dissipation areas.
- Level the unit using the adjustable feet to ensure stability and proper closing.
- Connect to an accessible 220–240 V / 50 Hz socket with earth connection.
- Do not connect to power strips, multi-socket bases or multipolar distribution outlets.
- If the unit has been transported lying down, leave it upright before starting it up.
Recommended use and beverage storage
The TEFCOLD DB-H range is designed to keep packaged drinks cold and visible in professional service environments. Ventilated cooling helps distribute the cold evenly and recover temperature when there is product turnover.
- Use for packaged drinks: beer, water, soft drinks, wine, kombucha, mixers, tonics, juices and ready-to-serve beverages.
- Do not load large quantities of hot or non-precooled product.
- Do not overload the shelves or block the circulation of air inside.
- Keep the doors closed when not restocking or serving product.
- Organise products using stock rotation to reduce unnecessary door openings.
- Use the LED lighting to enhance the visual presentation at the bar or point of sale.
Recommended maintenance and cleaning
Preventive maintenance helps reduce consumption, prevent breakdowns and maintain a stable temperature. In bars and restaurants with intensive use, cleaning the exterior, interior and ventilation areas should be part of the daily routine.
- Always unplug the unit before cleaning or maintenance.
- Clean interior, exterior, doors and gaskets with mild products suitable for commercial refrigeration.
- Do not use water jets, pressure equipment or abrasive products.
- Keep the grilles and ventilation areas clear.
- Periodically check gaskets, locks, hinges, shelves and adjustable feet.
- Clean the condenser periodically according to use and working environment.
- Use original spare parts and qualified technical service in case of breakdown.
Compatibility and operating limits
Important: these units are backbar refrigerators for packaged drinks. They are not tap-dispense systems, do not chill beer, wine, water or cocktail lines, and do not replace a keg cooler or a draft beverage installation.
In professional bar projects, the backbar can coexist with beer taps, wine on tap, filtered water, cocktails, kombucha or nitro coffee. Each function must be sized separately: cooling for packaged product, keg cooling, beverage lines, gas, taps, water treatment, cleaning and maintenance.
Downloads and technical documentation
We recommend checking the technical documentation before installing the unit, especially if it will be placed under a counter, fitted between cabinets, near hot equipment or in areas with limited ventilation.
Frequently asked questions about TEFCOLD DB-H backbars
What is the difference between DB106H, DB126H, DB201H and DB301H-3?
The main difference lies in the width, number of doors and capacity. The DB106H measures 500 mm and has 92 L net; the DB126H measures 600 mm and has 115 L net; the DB201H measures 900 mm, has 2 doors and offers 182 L net; and the DB301H-3 measures 1350 mm, has 3 doors and offers 278 L net.
