Cellarbuoy foam-detecting keg coupler head

The CellarBuoy foam‑detector keg coupler is vital for precise dispensing of draft beer and kegged beverages. It improves flow and ensures consistent, high‑quality service on every occasion.

The foam retainer valve for coupler heads eliminates unwanted foam when tapping a new keg of beer.

It signals the end of a keg when beer stops coming out of the tap, indicating it’s time to change the keg. The system automatically shuts the beer lines before excess gas (which creates foam) enters the line.

The line remains completely full of beer, ready to serve a perfect first glass after a new keg is connected.

Since the beer line is filled with beer at all times, microbiological growth in the beer line is significantly reduced.

The foam retainer valve for couplers is a mechanical device designed to keep beer lines balanced and stable (circuit filled with beer from keg to point of dispense) by preventing gas from entering the beer line when the keg is empty.

Significantly reduces beer wastage and downtime when changing kegs.

The purging action must be done while holding a glass; you will get around 2–4 cl of foam. You can choose not to purge the line and you will get 1/2–1 glass of foam when the new keg is connected, depending on the line length.

Version available for 1/2 BSP and 5/8 BSP threads

Keg change instructions:

1. Disconnect the keg coupler to release pressure

2. Disassemble the coupler’s pipe fitting

3. Install the device on top of the coupler head

4. Push the beer line into the JG fitting or use the JG straight 3/8 OD tube collet

5. Connect the coupler to the keg

6. Press the small button to purge the FOB [2 sec]

7. Press the large button to reset the system [2 sec]

Frequently asked product questions

Is this product compatible with my setup?

It depends on the type of connector/head, threads, and tube diameter. If you provide us with your configuration or send us a photo, we can confirm compatibility.

What measurements should I check before buying?

Thread type, inner/outer tube diameter, fitting type (quick-connect/barb/threaded), and whether it’s for beer, gas, or water line.

Does it include gaskets, clamps, or the necessary accessories?

The description specifies what is included. If you need additional seals or accessories, we’ll recommend compatible options.

What material is it made of and what use is it recommended for?

The material (stainless steel, brass, etc.) is designed for food-grade and dispensing use. If you’re going to use it with another beverage or under special conditions, we’ll advise you.

Is it easy to install? What tools do I need?

It’s usually a straightforward installation, but we recommend a clean cut on the tubing, proper tightening, and leak testing. We’ll indicate the method according to the type of connection.

How do I know if the thread or fitting is the right one?

The key is to identify your system’s thread standard and connection type. If you’re unsure, send us a photo of the current part and we’ll help you choose.

What should I do if I have leaks after assembling it?

It’s usually due to a worn gasket, incorrect measurement, poorly cut tubing, or insufficient sealing. We’ll help you diagnose and fix it.

Does this component affect foam or serving flow rate?

Yes, some components affect flow and stability. If you’re having issues with foam or flow rate, we’ll help you balance pressure, temperature, and line.

How often should I check or replace gaskets and consumables?

It depends on usage and cleaning, but it’s advisable to check them regularly to avoid leaks and maintain a stable, hygienic service.

Do you offer technical support and international shipping?

Yes. We advise you before and after purchase and provide technical service. We also ship throughout Europe and to North, Central, and South America.
