One LogiCO2 sensor covers up to 100 m². If you have a single small keg room, one is enough. If you have several rooms or a larger area, you’ll need a system with multiple sensors and a central unit.

What type of gas do you use in your installation?

CO₂ and nitrogen (N₂) require different sensors. CO₂ is detected with a CO₂ sensor; N₂ depletes O₂ and requires an O₂ sensor.

Why does it matter? CO₂ is heavy and accumulates in low areas: you need a CO₂ sensor. Nitrogen (N₂) displaces oxygen without smell or color: you need an O₂ sensor. If you use both, the best option is to install both types of sensor.

Most common questions we get

There is no single rule that applies identically to every space and country. The need for detection depends on the workplace risk assessment and applicable occupational-safety rules. The EU sets an indicative occupational exposure limit of 5,000 ppm (0.5%) as an 8-hour average.

LogiCO₂ alarm levels can be configured to suit the risk assessment and local requirements. For installations with cylinders, tanks, fermentation or poorly ventilated spaces, the applicable criteria should be checked before defining the number, location and alarm thresholds of sensors.

The CO₂ sensor detects carbon dioxide accumulation. But if your installation uses nitrogen (N₂) or a CO₂/N₂ blend, nitrogen has no smell or color and displaces oxygen without the CO₂ sensor detecting it. In those cases, an O₂ sensor that alerts when oxygen drops below 19.5% is essential.

If you only use pure CO₂, a CO₂ sensor is enough. If you use N₂ or blends, you also need an O₂ sensor (or dual sensor).

One LogiCO2 sensor covers up to 100 m². For a standard keg room, one is usually enough. If you have several separate rooms (for example, keg room + cold room), you need one per area.

For larger installations you can use the Central Unit Mk9, which manages up to 12 sensors with a single control panel and a single power supply.

LogiCO2 sensors include automatic self-calibration via the ABC algorithm. In most normal environments they don’t need manual calibration or regular service visits.

An annual verification with the Gas Injection Tool is recommended to confirm correct operation, especially in critical installations or those with strict regulatory requirements.

Yes. The Sniffer Bluetooth Add-on KIT (Art. 0492) lets you read CO₂ levels in real time from a smartphone app. It’s a simple addition to the base system and doesn’t require changing the sensors.

For integration with BMS or SCADA systems, the Sniffer Modbus Add-on KIT (Art. 0496) enables communication with industrial software, control panels, or automatic ventilation systems.
