Cask – Barrel-conditioned beer for hand-pull dispensing
A beer cask is the container where Real Ale‑style beer is stored and then served directly from the cask. There are many types of beer kegs and tanks, but the cask is a very special type of keg due to its long history and tradition over so many years, so if you’re thinking of buying one, you’re in the right place.

Our beer casks
If you are looking for all the accessories for your beer cask, at Install Beer you will find everything you need to serve beer from a cask or hand pump.
Wooden cask shive
There are two types of wooden shives: one with no porosity at all to prevent air from entering the cask and oxidising the beer, and another porous one that allows air circulation so you can serve the beer.
Cask tap
Mainly used to dispense beer directly from the cask, without the need for a dispense line or beer pump.
Check valve (Check valve MK4)
The check valve helps maintain a constant flow in the beer line circuit and prevents back‑drainage into the cask. Designed for cask dispense systems.
Chrome English Angram tower
The Angram chrome tower is a traditional English hand pump made of chrome‑plated brass that delivers a quarter‑pint per pull. It features a black wooden handle and a light oak plinth.
Paragon column cylinder seal kit
A set of O‑rings and parts needed to completely replace the moving components. With this pack you can carry out a full replacement of parts for the cask hand pump.
Types of beer cask accessories we offer
At Install Beer you can find all the accessories needed to serve cask beer, from all types of shives to cask taps and even the classic English hand pumps with their distinctive and famous design.

We are experts in beer tanks
We have been installing beer systems for more than 30 years and have installed many cask hand pumps. It is increasingly common to see one or two cask hand pumps in craft beer bars and especially in pubs.
A beer cask is the container or vessel where the beer is stored and from which it can be served. Nowadays, the most commonly used material for making casks is aluminium, but in the past they were made entirely from wood. Experience and know-how have led to wooden casks being phased out in favour of aluminium ones.
The hand pump for a beer cask is the quintessential tap used in English pubs. This type of tap doesn’t need CO2/air to serve beer, as it directly draws the beer from the cask like a pump. It’s also possible to use the hand pump purely for aesthetics without using it with a traditional beer cask; you can use it with standard metal kegs or with KeyKeg-style bag kegs using the corresponding CO2 or air.
