Broadly speaking, drip trays can be divided into two types: service trays and glass-draining trays.
Service trays are the ones we place under the beer tap to catch both what spills from the glass and any drops that may fall from the tap. They are usually made of stainless steel, but there are also plastic versions such as the drip pan used for English hand pumps.
Glass-draining trays are used to collect the excess water when we rinse glasses and stemware.
All trays can be used as beer trays or water trays, for cider, kombucha, or even as trays for wine or coffee.
All of these trays may or may not include a glass rinser; it will depend on where the tray is located and whether you have a mains water line to connect it to.
