Beer cooling coils for dispensing drinks

Stainless steel beverage cooling coils are spiral-wound tubes used to chill liquids—such as water, coffee, beer, cocktails, mead, kombucha, cider, vermouth, and wine—as they flow through them. The coil is submerged in cold, iced water and the liquid to be chilled is pumped through the tube, allowing the coil to extract heat and cool the liquid. It is an efficient and popular way to keep drinks cold from the chiller to the dispensing tap.

  • Cooling coils for beverage dispensing

  • If what you need is a beer coil, Install Beer is the place for you. Our coils are robust and reliable and can run for long periods of time without requiring maintenance. You can chill a wide variety of liquids, not just beer, such as wine, cocktails, cider, or any other type of beverage.

  • Coil models for sale

  • We offer different sizes and configurations so you can find the one that best suits your cooling system.

  • Available accessories and add-ons for beverage coolers

  • Coils have no moving parts; each one is a single piece. However, they do require different accessories and fittings to make the connections. You can use stainless steel hose clamps to connect the beverage line to the coil, or you can use John Guest quick-connect fittings for the same purpose.

  • Types of beverage coils

  • Depending on the system used to cool the beverage, there are several types of coils, including:

    ● Square coils: Made of stainless steel and square in shape. They are widely used by large breweries.

    ● Circular coils: This type of coil, made of stainless steel, is the one we use most at Install Beer, as the circular shape allows the cooler to have more space for a larger ice reserve than with a square coil.

    ● Flat coils: This coil has a ¼" tube diameter, slightly smaller than other coils, and its flat shape makes it perfect for adding to coolers that don’t have much space and need an extra coil. The length of this coil is usually shorter than that of other coils, so it is recommended for beverages that should not be served too cold, such as wine.

    ● Zig-zag coils: A small coil that takes up little space, also recommended for coolers with limited space and for beverages that do not require a very low temperature.

    ● Elliptical coil: This elliptical model is similar to the round coil, but its main drawback is the difficulty of grouping several coils together due to its shape.

  • The importance of buying a quality coil

  • The quality of the coil is directly related to the quality of the stainless steel. The most important thing is that it is food-grade stainless steel, such as AISI 304.

  • How to choose the best coil for beer and beverages

  • You should take several factors into account before buying your cooling coil:

    ● Capacity: Make sure you choose a coil with the right capacity to cool the amount of beverage you are going to serve.

    ● High-quality, durable materials: Having a food-grade stainless steel coil will guarantee the essential safety required when dealing with food and beverages.

    ● Design: Choose the coil design that your cooler can accommodate.

    Preguntas Frecuentes

To clean the coil and beer line you have two options:
A – Call Install Beer; we will prepare a quote tailored to your needs and carry out the cleaning and preventive maintenance of your system.
B – Do it yourself with a cleaning keg, which you can find in the “Cleaning and Maintenance” section.
1 - Fill the cleaning keg with water and connect the coupler to flush out all product that may be inside.
2 - Depressurize the keg and fill it with water and the chemical product (ask Install Beer or the manufacturer about quantities).
3 - Connect the coupler and open the tap, placing a bucket underneath. Let the product run for a few seconds and then close the tap for 3 minutes.
4 - After 3 minutes, open the tap again. Repeat this process a few more times if necessary.
5 - Depressurize the keg and fill it with water only, then repeat the previous process. Run two full kegs of clean water through to remove any chemical residue from the coil and line. We recommend performing this cleaning regularly, at least once a month, to ensure a thorough clean.

The beer coil allows you to chill any product inside it through contact with cold water or another product such as glycol, either in a chiller or in a bucket with water and ice.
The drink enters at one end of the coil and gradually drops in temperature until it exits the coil at a lower temperature than when it entered.
