Cleaning instruction manual for use with cleaning tank
All beer systems and lines require maintenance and cleaning to prevent contamination by yeast or buildup of sediment, and to always preserve the original freshness and flavor that comes from the keg. Dirt alters the true taste of the beer being dispensed, so the cleaner we keep the circuit the beer passes through, the purer the flavor coming from the keg will be.
Application: Fill the cleaning tank with the cleaning solution and water, disconnect the beer coupler from the keg and connect it to the tank, open the tap and let the beer run out until the cleaning solution starts coming through the tap, let it act for at least 5 minutes, and repeat the process several times (no more than 20 minutes in total per line). Empty and clean the tank with the cleaning agent, fill it with water only and repeat the process of connecting the beer coupler and letting water run through the tap. You must carry out the process in the same way on all beer lines (or taps) you have. It is important that every time you are going to open the cleaning tank you first open the pressure relief valve, so you can easily open the tank and avoid a geyser of cleaning solution that could injure the person doing the cleaning.

Cleaning product: Use TM Desanamax cleaning sachets (1 sachet per full cleaning keg), “Purexol Líquido Tipo S” liquid cleaner (3% solution with water in a full cleaning keg) or any other cleaning liquid available, always following the manufacturer’s instructions.
Water: For each cleaning tank filled with cleaning solution, then use 2–3 full tanks of water to rinse (at minimum, and always checking that it is sufficient). Ingesting the cleaning product can cause serious health problems due to its corrosive agents, which is why it is so important to remove any residue from the system by thoroughly rinsing with water afterwards.
Pressure: It is recommended to lower the system pressure to 1 bar (there is no need to apply more pressure if at 1 bar you are already pushing the liquid to the tap). Excess pressure above 1 bar can, over time, damage the connection valve to the coupler and the pressure relief valve on the cleaning keg. Once cleaning is finished, reset the normal beer dispensing pressure you had before cleaning.

Tip: Connect the cleaning tank to a beer line; open the tap and, when the cleaning solution comes out and you get the burst of air (because the liquid from the tank has arrived and the colored liquid appears), close the tap. The TM Desanamax cleaning solution has the advantage of a color change: at first the liquid has one color because the cleaning agent has not yet acted in the circuit, then it changes color as it removes dirt from the circuit, and finally it returns to its original color because the circuit is completely clean. Disconnect the tank coupler and reconnect it again (this way you’ll always know the full volume of liquid that fits inside the beer circuit). Repeat the same process several times (until you see that the cleaning liquid coming out of the tap is the same color as at the start—this means the circuit is clean). Depending on the length of the beer circuit, you may not need to use a full tank for each line and can clean several lines. By following this process, you save solution and get more out of the cleaning tank, as it has capacity for more cleaning cycles.
