However, except for that one and a few others, the standard is to use a metal tray, almost always stainless steel.

Drip trays can broadly be divided into two types: service trays and glass-draining trays.
Service trays are the ones we place under the beer tap to catch both what spills from the glass and the drops that may fall from the beer tap. They are usually made of stainless steel, but there are also plastic ones, such as the drip pan tray used for English hand pumps.
Glass-draining trays are used to collect excess water when we rinse glasses and cups.
All trays can be used as beer trays or as trays for water, cider, kombucha, or even as trays for wine or coffee.
All these trays may or may not include a glass rinser; it will depend on where the tray is installed and whether you have a mains water line to connect it to.
