No beer coming out of the keg - Beer Tips
No beer coming out of the keg?
We’ll give you 4 tips
1. Check that the coupler is the right one, as some look very similar, such as the type S or type D coupler.
and the Type G coupler and the KeyKeg coupler
2. Check that CO2 is entering the keg. You can tell by lowering the coupler handle as if you were going to tap a keg; at that moment, CO2 should come out from the bottom of the coupler.
The pressure must be appropriate; we can’t tell you exactly what it should be because it depends on several factors such as the temperature of the keg or the type of beer keg. (Ask the technician who carried out the installation if you have any doubts.)
3. The cooler may have too much ice and may have frozen the beer. This could have happened for several reasons, but since it’s a more delicate issue, we recommend emailing us at info@installbeer.com and we’ll look for a way to solve it.
4. Check the coupler check valves because they may have become blocked, preventing beer from flowing out or gas from entering. You should replace them from time to time.
You should also check that the compensator on the tap is open; it may have been closed inadvertently or for some specific reason and then forgotten.
** If the 4 points above have all been correctly checked, there may be a fifth option: depending on the type of beer, and especially with lightly filtered beers, an internal plug of sediment from the beer itself can form and prevent it from flowing. In this case, we recommend that you contact us at info@installbeer.com so we can help solve the problem.
