Directory: Beer Tourism in Madrid – Discover the Capital’s Breweries

by David Varela Naranjo on May 06, 2019 Categories: Draft-to-tap beverage dispensing blog

Madrid is a national benchmark when it comes to beer tourism. Spain’s capital is home to around 70 craft beer producers, although not all of them have their own brewery. A significant number are nomadic. In other words, they brew their beers in other producers’ facilities. This natural symbiosis allows, on the one hand, brewers with limited resources to experiment with their recipes without taking on the risks of owning a brewery. On the other hand, it allows brewery owners to make their investment more profitable.

Although some of the best Madrid beers are made by nomadic teams, in this post we suggest a list of Madrid brewers you can visit at their facilities and even drink and eat there. Let’s not forget that one of beer’s characteristics is that it tastes better when drunk at the source, since it’s a product that deteriorates with transport and over time. So that you can enjoy Madrid craft beer in all its glory, we suggest the following list of breweries to visit, in alphabetical order.

  • Bailandera: brewery in Bustarviejo.
  • CCVK (Compañía Cervecera del Valle del Khas): brewery in the Vallecas neighborhood with a taproom.
